The four-way switch can be used to steer the ion-beam upon extraction from the RFQ. By adjusting the potentials on four hyperbolic plates it is possible to bend the incoming beam through ± 90^o to facilitate injection and extraction of the ion beam from the EBIT and injection into the Penning trap. This will also allow the cooled and bunched beam from the RFQ or the charge bred beam from the EBIT to be injected into other experiments at ISAC.
